2nd Satak Outing - Part 2

When I went for the 1st outing in November I was informed that there is another species of satak in another stretch of the beach. After nearly an hour and probably tens of satak sucked out of their burrows, we found it. The only one that day. It is different: transparent shell and with claws.

After taking its photos we released it back into its burrow and hopefully all the eggs will hatch and more of these species of satak will be found in future.

Labi Trip - Part 2 (HDR photos only)

Labi Trip - Part 1 (in HDR)

Went with the DRM Scooterz to Labi on Saturday 3 May 2008. For the KB group we met at OGDC and met up with the Bandar guys in Sungai Liang.

After breakfast, the first stop was at Luagan Lalak. A very beautiful scenery but it is closed for an indefinite period until the whole place is in good order.

The next stop was the parking area of Wasai Kadir a.k.a known as Wong Kadir Waterfall.

We drove all the way to the Teraja Longhouse, back to Labi town for lunch, drove all the way to Sungai Liang Recreation Park. Did I say drove? Yes, I was in the sweeper car driven by Renny. From the Park, the group then went their separate way back to KB and Bandar. Will I ever drive a scooter? Well maybe, you never know. Thanks to the group for inviting me.

After quite a number of years since we both left the then Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Teachers Training College in Gadong (in 1981) I was glad to be able to meet the now Acting Temburong District Officer Tuan Haji Metussin bin Orang Kaya Sura Haji Tuba last Saturday 29th March 2008. Since he was on official duty that day, we only managed to briefly greet each other. Both of us had started our career as teachers and have now changed our profession.
