Selamat Menyambut Maal Hijrah to all Muslim readers/visitors and Happy Holidays to everyone (except those who have to work of course).
The holidays did not make much difference to me as I have been on medical leave since 2nd January 2008. The pain this time is worse than all the previous occurrences. Instead of just the numb feeling in all my left hand fingertips, this time its numb from the shoulder down to the finger tips but the stabbing feeling runs inside the arms down to the thumb and forefingers. The days were spent either lying down or reclining in bed, sitting upright and standing was more painful. Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings have been undergoing tensioning session (as in picture below) to try as raise the neck vertebrae that had collapsed and been pinching the nerves in my left arm. I'm now due for MRI scanning in Jerudong Park Medical Centre on 23rd January and will know after that the details of what actually happened and what will be done next. I hope the specialist will find a permanent solution as I've been on painkillers, anti inflammation and vitamins since August 2007. Temporary solutions and this time most of the time not even effective. Been sleeping at most 2-3 hours per night due to the persistent pain.
Sorry if this post bore you, but just want to share how it's like to have this medical condition. If someone tells you that he/she is suffering from cervical spondylosis or slip discs, its not funny (although it does sound funny!). He/She may look healthy but the pain is unbearable.
