Cute photo right? The bird I mean.
But the one below may not be to your liking.
I was diagnosed as suffering from cervical spondylosis in 2003. (If you're curious what it means, just click on the words.) For about a month I was in pain, sometimes intermittently and sometimes constantly. After about a year I had the first relapse in Jun/July 2004.
About two weeks ago, I had the symptom again and since last Monday was in constant pain in my left arm and behind my head. Most of the time I couldn't sleep and even the painkiller doesn't really help. Had my x-ray done yesterday which showed that the space between the 5th and 6th vertebrae of my neck of the left side had reduced and trapped/irritated the nerve. Had my first appointment with the specialist today and given a few days off work. Undergone physio where traction was applied (I called this "hanged like a chicken" as you can see from the photo) as this had helped previously to relieve the pain. So if you see my website not updated for a while, don't worry. I'm taking my rest.

Ouch... My father in law suffered the same thing, the nerve being trapped in between the vertebrae but his is on the lower back, so most of the time now he is lying down and resting whenever he can.. you take care of yourself okay!
Princess Nashwa, you're right. I didn't expect this relapse so soon. Sometimes the pain is just unbearable and I look forward to getting well and back to work and photography.

vedd & syazwan, thanks. Not fully recovered but I'm feeling much better than a few days/weeks ago.
Hi Husini - suffering from the same condition myself, I was inspired by your posting to put up one on my blog too. I've mentioned you in my post. Best regards, Eleanor.
Eleanor,
thanks and hope you're better now or recovered fully. I think I'm nearly there. The problem with our condition is that people cannot see the pain. Even a GP may think we're just pretending to be sick so that we can be given medical leave. It takes an x-ray to prove the condition and a specialist to evaluate the pain. But most of all, it takes another person who suffer the same condition or who knows someone who does who really appreciate how painful it is.
Hi Husini - I am a lot better now (thank you) and my physiotherapist is very pleased with my progress. I've had an X-ray and MRI done and both show a degenerative spine, with trapped nerves at C6/7. I was quite overcome by the pain when my condition started in June and I am so glad to be almost (touch wood)pain-free now. Good luck with your progress and it's good to be able to share with a fellow-sufferer! All the best, E.
Bro, thought you were having meetings elsewhere. Get well soon ah.
thanks bro gembo. i think this time the road to recovery is quite a long one.
