KB Town from Rasau Bridge

The doctor had given me 2 days sick leave coz he said I've torn some ligament in my back muscle. Still cannot believe how it happened. I was kneeling on the floor assembling my computer table yesterday evening. I was about to stand up to fetch another item for the table when I felt as if my back muscle was stretched and all of a sudden I cannot move and my whole body was shaking with pain. I didn't immediately go to the hospital coz I thought it would go away in the morning but was kept awake most of the night. I'm now on ibuprofen to help kill the pain.

The photos above were taken Monday morning from the Rasau Bridge. Have to pay B$6 for the toll to get to the bridge and Sungai Teraban, but it's worth it.

The Museums

1st time I've seen the two musuems from the river. The one on top of the Hill is the National Museum (see write-up by Metallichick here) and the one with the red roof near the river is the MalayTechnology Museum (see write up and photos by Bruneian here) The building with the green roof is an exhibit of a navy ship, which sad to say, is visibly not well maintained. If we're going for Visit Brunei 2008, maybe this is one place (amongst a lot more) that needs sprucing up.

a house with many colours

This house is a blend of different colours on different sidesdark and light blue wall on its leftlight blue fence, black and gold coloured grills and yellowish railings in front
and pink, blue and green walls on the right. Don't forget the white and blue roof as well.

Work in progress

According to our guide, they start by hand digging into the river bed, then concrete the foundation before erecting the steel/iron rods. Using a big plastic tube (pvc?) as the casing, they then pour concrete into the casing.

Merambat... the sequence

It looked so easy for someone who had mastered the skill.

Local tourist

A group of local tourist were seen going round Kampung Ayer today. According to reliable sources the trip started just after 9 a.m. and ended around 1 p.m. and the group started at Yayasan to Kampung Pudak to Kampung Bolkiah A and B, back to Lorong Dalam then all the way to Taman Jubli and back to the Yayasan. It was also reported that they not only took photos of Kampung Ayer but also fisherman, fish farm, alligator, cats, seagulls, stork and of course a lot of potraits. Those who ran out of memory cards have to be creative by editing and deleting some (or maybe a lot!) of their photos. Anakbrunei was quoted to said "There's always room for another photo." And everyone start searching in their memory card for that room. The group were seen leaving the Yayasan area with a bit of sunburn but a lot of satisfied smiles.

Masjid Pandan in B&W

Thanks David for the b&w suggestion. Since i didn't take the original in b&w, have to use picasa instead. The details are fantastic.

Kuala Belait Town (HDR)

I like the posting made by Vixennova on Etiquette & Manners. Whilst you're at it, have a read on Senor Pablo's write up about School Bullies.

BSP Head Office - HDR

This is the view of the BSP Head Office from the Jalan Utara entrance.

kadai seria - HDR

I really like this HDR. I always like paintings but not a painter myself and this software had allowed me to try out my "painting" ability. It really works well with my favourite theme, landscape and architecture. A few more HDR photos to come and then maybe should take a break and back to the old routine of random photos.
